Questions & Answers

Q What is the extent of cover provided under the "visit only" maintenance period for a Contract Works policy?
A The QBE CONTRACT WORKS product covers you for damage that you may cause to the contract works whilst visiting it for maintenance purposes. For this reason, it is important to insure the building under a material damage policy once the project has been completed.
Q Do you provide cover for removal of debris?
A Yes.  We can tailor our QBE CONTRACT WORKS product to meet the specifications of your project, by extending our cover for an additional premium.
Q What should be the sum insured for Electronic Equipment and / or Machinery Breakdown covers?
A When an indemnifiable damage occurs for a partial loss, the policy does not deduct depreciation. This means the sum insured should represent the new replacement value of the equipment or machinery that you are insuring. Please note that in the event of a total loss, settlement is based on the market value of the item.
Q Does my Machinery Breakdown policy cover the peril of fire?
A No. You need to insure against the risk of fire under a Material Damage policy. Ask your broker about our QBE COMMERCIAL Cover.
Q If a worn part fails and damages a machine, what is covered?
A The QBE MACHINERY BREAKDOWN policy covers all resultant damage but excludes the cost of replacing the worn part had the loss not occured.
Q What is the extent of the QBE ELECTRONIC Cover?
A It covers any sudden and unforeseen physical damage unless specifically excluded.
