Our History

In 1973 QBE Insurance Ltd evolved from the successful merger of the Queensland Insurance Co. Ltd, Bankers and Traders Insurance Co. Ltd and the Equitable Life and General Insurance Co. Ltd.
In the years that followed, QBE embarked on a new path of growth, nationally and internationally, creating one of the success stories in corporate Australia. Today, QBE Insurance Group has offices in over 40 countries and is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
